If you haven’t heard of or purchased magnetic tiles for your child yet, they are likely to make it into your life at some point. This is a popular toy item for kids today and I love it because it’s an open-ended toy that encourages building, stacking, imaginative and creative play.
We bought my son a set of tiles for his second birthday, but he wasn’t quite ready for them yet. He loved watching me build things but had trouble on his own. He also had trouble separating them and was constantly asking me for help. Now that he’s 6 months older, he is able to use them on his own and build so much more! This is why I recommend the best age to buy your child magnetic tiles is 2.5 years old, at the earliest.
Bonus: If you have cars too, show your child how to build a “garage” which is a simple cube with squares and ask him to park the cars inside. I just introduced my son to this fun combination of toys and he is LOVING it! It’s provided hours of independent play.
