It’s so easy to get swept up in everything that baby needs once he or she arrives. Those first few months with a newborn can feel like a fog. Most days you’re just trying to survive! But at some point that fog will lift and you’ll find a routine with your sweet baby as you get to know him or her more each day.
Once that happens, I want you to take a moment to notice how YOU feel physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. How are you feeling? If there’s an area where you feel you need more support, I want you to lean in and ask for it. Find it and make it a priority to get it.
Postpartum isn’t just something you “power through.” You deserve to feel good too, Mama. Here are some ways I have personally received care during my fourth trimester:
- Lactation support
- Acupuncture
- Cupping and massage
- Pelvic floor physical therapy
- Chiropractic care
One of the challenging parts for me to get to my own appointments is having to bring two kids with me since they’re home with me during the day. If this is the case for you too, you will find that many providers are more than accommodating for patients who have to bring littles ones. Please don’t let that stop you from getting the support you need!
How are you taking care of yourself after baby?
