If you have a 2-year-old and have not yet played finger play music for him or her, todays the day to get started! I discovered a playlist on Spotify called “Fingerplay Songs for Kids” and it has been Elson’s favorite for weeks! The playlist of full of songs like “Itsy Bitsy Spider” and “Pat-A-Cake” that encourage him (and you as the role model!) to interact with the lyrics.
I enjoy showing him how to use his hands and fingers with the song and watching him move along with me. If you don’t know one of the songs, you can always look up how to do the motions on YouTube or simply make them up! I find that when I play these types of songs he will sit and listen to them longer than any others. Even if he’s sitting still during them, I know he’s listening because he will randomly break out into song later on in the day.
Have you tried finger play songs with your toddler yet?
I want to to thank you for this very good read!! I certainly enjoyed every little bit of it. I have got you book-marked to check out new stuff you postÖ
