I didn’t always embrace my thick, curly 3C hair. But for the last 5 years I have really taken the time to learn more about how to care for my natural hair. As part of that journey, I learned how heat can damage hair and vowed to let my beautiful curls air dry on wash day. I would shower in the morning and let my hair dry all day (and it would usually take almost all day too!). That was pretty simple to do before kids. Now I find myself showering mostly at night, making it difficult to give my hair the time it needs to air dry before going to bed.
What’s my solution? Enter the Turbie Twist. It’s a microfiber towel that does wonders for soaking up wet hair and is much less harsh on hair than a traditional cotton towel. Recently, I discovered I can leave the towel on my head all night and wake up to beautiful curls! This has been a game changer for me. In the morning, I simply remove the towel and, with a little oil on my fingers, gently massage my scalp and help my curls loosen up. I still much prefer washing in the morning and letting my hair air dry if I can, but this is such a great alternative if I’m not able to find time in the morning.
