Can you freeze yogurt?

Absolutely! Yogurt has been one of the easiest foods for me to freeze. Whether it’s Greek or regular yogurt, simply stock up at the store and pop what you don’t plan to eat that week in your freezer. You don’t need to do anything special to the container or the yogurt before storing. I personally like to label the top of my container with the date I put the yogurt in the freezer or the date it expires since it is only recommended you store yogurt this way for up to 2 months.

One caveat: My regular yogurt did appear to thicken a bit more after being frozen. I don’t mind this as I prefer my yogurt a bit thicker, but if you like the exact consistency of regular yogurt then freezing it may not be right for you.

My son and I both enjoy eating plain yogurt, Greek and regular, with a little bit of honey and topped with fresh fruit so it’s always great to have around. Plus, plain yogurt is a healthy substitute for sour cream so if I know I’m going to have tacos that week I’ll use some of my yogurt as ingredients in other meals as well.
