It’s become easier to schedule a pickup order for your groceries or have a new bottle of conditioner delivered straight to your door. But at some point you will inevitably have to go inside a store with your kid(s). If you’re like me, this may bring some feelings of anxiety. Have no fear! There are things you can do to increase your chances of having a stress-free trip to the store.
I have a 2-year-old and a newborn, and I take them to the grocery store with me every week. Here’s what I do to increase my chances that the trip goes smoothly:
- Go during baby’s nap time. It’s best when she’s starting to get sleepy but not overly tired.
- Change baby’s diaper and nurse her right before we go into the store
- Make sure the toddler goes pee in the potty before we leave home since he’s potty trained
- Put baby close to mama in the carrier once we are at the store
- Give the toddler a snack to occupy him during the cart ride (he happily eats an apple every time)
I have been going to the store with my toddler since he was born and now my newborn is also along for the ride! These are what have worked for us… Any other tips/tricks that have worked for you?
