If you’re a breastfeeding mama who is pumping, this post is for you! You’ve probably heard of using nipple butter after a pumping session. This is a great product that can help add moisture in between your pumping sessions. But did you know you can also use a lubricant on your nipples right before you pump? Using a lubricant on your nipples just before you pump can help provide some comfort to the girls during your next pumping session.
I recommend a fractionated coconut oil which acts as more of a liquid that regular coconut oil, is completely natural and safe for babies! Put some in a spray bottle and apply it either to your nipple or just inside your flange right before a pumping session. Then, immediately after, apply some nipple butter and allow that to soak in until your next pumping session. If you haven’t already invested in some pads for your bras, make sure you do that as well so the oils don’t ruin your tops.
Pumping is a lot of work and you are asking a lot of your nipples these days, so it’s important to take care of them! Did you know you could use a lubricant while pumping? What, if anything, are you already using?
